In light of the recent DLC, Avalon will move forward with the following list to strike from:
Battlefield (Miiverse is treated as the same stage)
Dream Land 64
Town & City
Lylat Cruise will stay on as a counterpick, in addition to FD and most Omegas.
It recently became apparent that several competitive players feel the stage list could be smaller, mainly because there are several stages left that are highly unpopular, different or so strong a counterpick that they automatically warrant the usage of a person's bans for the set in a stage list that otherwise mostly consists of fairly neutral stages. As such, Avalon and GGWP have decided to completely ban Castle Siege and Kongo Jungle 64 from this point forward.
This puts the stage list at 8 stages, while still allowing for 1 ban each in both best of 3 and best of 5 sets, in addition to the rule where you can not counterpick any stage you already won on.
Two more stages are up for debate, namely Delfino Plaza and Halberd. While to a lesser degree, these stages are also considered outliers in terms of lay-out, hazards and/or counterpick potential. We are putting to a vote whether these also need to go. However, this would come at the expense of stage bans in bo5, as you simply run out of stages you realistically want to choose with both DSR and bans.
